The Good Kitchen Review
4.5 out of 5 fork rating
The Good Kitchen also prides itself on sourcing only the best ingredients, however, we think they actually do a great job! Their proteins are "always grass-fed, finished, pastured and antibiotic/hormone free" and their produce are organic and non-GMO. The ingredient list in each dish are super simple with only real food - no chlorides or acids. They also have several of their meals labeled as Whole 30 Approved, so if you are trying to stick to that, this makes it very easy!
Boxes are offered as low as 5 meals/week for $70 ($13.99/meal). You can increase by one meal for the same $13.99/meal up to 10 meals, where the cost per meal goes down slightly. Then it is 10 meals/week for $130, 14 meals/week for $182 and, finally, 21 meals/week for $231.
The Good Kitchen website is relatively easy to navigate. I had no problem figuring how how to choose meals, but figuring out how to skip a week or apply promo codes required a little extra digging around. There have been a few instances where I received the wrong meal or didn't place my order by the deadline, and every time I have reached out to their customer service team, they have been PHENOMENAL. This gives me the comfort to keep re-ordering from them knowing that if I have any issues, they will make it right. The packaging that the meals come in is appealing, and I LOVE the fact that because these meals are vacuum-sealed in their containers, you can easily throw them in the freezer if you will not be able to consume them by the date on the package. I always have extra meals from The Good Kitchen in my freezer as my emergency meals!
Overall, these dishes have great flavor, there is a wide variety of cuisines offered (although, sometimes the choices seem to be limited - the menu hasn't changed much over the past few weeks), and each meal usually has a great blend of high quality protein and veggies. See the reviews from The Good Kitchen below for individual dish reviews and pictures!
will i re-order?
Yes! With these meals, I feel as though they are using the absolute cleanest ingredients with no extra junk in my meal. The only downside is that the meal selection can feel limited over time and the price is on the higher end. However, I am willing to pay the extra money for a clean ingredient list!
The Good Kitchen recently rolled out a new reward system! You can earn points based on dollars spent, leaving reviews, reading their blog, birthday reward, and more! You can redeem a reward with as few as 400 points for $20 off your order. It can be tricky to figure out how to apply your reward codes, so don't hesitate to contact customer service for help! Since it's a new feature, I'm sure it will take some time to work out all of the issues, so be patient. Just remember, if you are going to apply a code, you must do so BEFORE you have saved your meals for the week.
