Delectable! The bolognese sauce is hearty and has such a great taste. The spaghetti squash can be a little watery at first, so I drained a little of the water off when I put the food on my plate. One thing I love about The Good Kitchen meals is that they are vacuum sealed - which means they can be put in the freezer if you don't think you will eat them in time. I have had to do this many times and the meals taste just as great heating them up from being frozen as they do from the refrigerator.
This dish came in at 477 calories. The fat content, including saturated fat, was really high - 51% of daily value and almost 70% of saturated fat. This must be from the ground beef. Given that the protein is so high - 33 g (65% of daily value) - my guess is there is just a high portion of meat in the dish. The Good Kitchen prides itself on the quality of their protein stating that it is "always grass-fed, finished, pastured and antibiotic/hormone free". This gives me some comfort that while this dish has a lot of ground beef, it is high quality. The other thing I love about The Good Kitchen is that the ingredient list on the dish is SO CLEAN and simple! There are NO preservative types of ingredients - "natural" or otherwise - and this is something I love to see!
With no promotions added, I ordered a box of 8 meals for $111.92. This comes out to $13.99/meal. While this is higher than Freshly, I personally feel like the quality and cleanliness of the ingredients is worth the extra cost.
will i re-order?
Absolutely! This is one of my husband's favorites and the only time we don't re-order this dish is when it is out of stock!
